A toll booth station on the Roebling Suspension Bridge
The Roebling Suspension Bridge was a toll bridge from its opening in 1867 until tolls were abolished in 1963.
The toll booths were removed in the 1980's when Covington started revitalizing the area now known as Roebling Point. Many people can still remember walking around the booths to go to a Bengals or Reds game. Parking in Covington was free and the stadiums were only a short walk across the bridge.
Today, parking is still economical and the walk across the Roebling Bridge is breathtaking. Parking in Covington also allows easy access to The Banks District at the base of the Roebling Bridge on the Cincinnati side of the Ohio River.
